Local Resources
Germanna Community College – Workforce development incentives through career-related, non-credit training and continuing education courses, and one-on-one individualized training; available to new and existing businesses.
Project 3/50 – A national 'shop local' movement to support independent businesses. Be sure to notify Stafford’s Business Retention Manager to be added to a local participant list on the County’s GoStafford website.
Stafford County Government - Visit the County Government website, click on departments for a list of divisions here to serve you.
Stafford County Technology Zone – A variety of incentives available for qualifying companies on a case-by-case basis. Contact Stafford County Economic Development for more information: (540) 658-8681.
Stafford County Tourism – Free listings for tourism-related businesses (attractions, recreation, lodging, dining, meeting facilities, festivals & events). Submit public events to the Tourism Manager for the calendar and e-newsletter.
Vectec Grants – Grant funding for website improvements is available for existing Stafford businesses through the Stafford County Economic Development Authority.

Fredericksburg Regional Tourism Partnership – Free listings for tourism-related businesses (attractions, recreation, lodging, dining, meeting facilities, festivals & events). Create an account. Submit events for the regional calendar and visitors guide.
Germanna Workforce and Community Education – Find the most up-to-date information on workforce trainings, certificates, certifications, and seminars offered at all of the regional Germanna campuses.
Rappahannock Regional Small Business Development Center – For new and existing companies; small business counseling on marketing, cash management, loan proposal preparation, general strategic planning - free of charge.
REDCO – REDCO-504 is a regional Certified Development Company and licensed non-profit offering long-term, fixed rate financing for major fixed assets.

Before you Start a Business - A list of resources for individuals ocnsidering starting a business. This list is provided by Virginia.gov for informational purposes (not an official endorsement).
Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) – Works to close the innovation gaps within the Commonwealth and nation through a focus on new technologies, entrepreneurs and technology companies. Visit CIT Entrepreneur for information on GAP Funding and the Federal Funding Assistance Program (SBIR & STTR).
Electronic Virginia (eVA) – Virginia’s procurement database. Create a profile for your company, receive notices, and bid on applicable requests for products and services.
Export Virginia – Learn about increasing your company’s bottom line through export sales. Information and resources are available for first-timers and companies already engaged in selling to foreign markets.
Small Business Financing Authority – Review financing opportunities through the Va. Dept. of Business Assistance, available to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Includes guaranties, capital access programs, and direct loans.
SWaM Certification: Department of Minority Business Enterprise – Apply for Small, Women-owned and Minority-owned business (SWaM) Certification to increase eligibility for set-asides when exploring Virginia procurement opportunities. SWaM Certification is also awarded to Service Disabled Veterans.
Virginia Business Information Center – Answers to all questions related to operating a business anywhere in Virginia. (866) 248-8814. Take advantage of the Information Center anonymously - no pre-registration necessary.
Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Learn about Virginia agriculture and consumer services. Consume Virginia-grown products; learn what’s in season. Market your product through the "Virginia’s Finest" program.
Virginia Department of Business Assistance – Get entrepreneur support, including access to capital, business problem-solving, small business formation and growth assistance, and the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
Virginia One Stop – Information for starting, locating or expanding a business in Virginia. Entrepreneur training, loan programs, development zones, and incentives.
Virginia Tourism Corporation – Free listings for tourism businesses (attractions, recreation, lodging, dining, meeting facilities, festivals & events). Register for an account. Submit events for the statewide calendar and annual visitors guide.
